The Best Smoothie Ever

I've spent more hours and energy than I'm proud to admit trying to figure out the secret to the perfect smoothie bowl recipe. Seriously, many attempts have ended in such frustration and me reluctantly trying to eat a watery smoothie with a spoon. Don't get me wrong, I love a regular smoothie in a cup, and with just a tiny more liquid added this recipe makes for an amazing traditional smoothie as well, but there is something so satisfying about eating a smoothie with a spoon for some reason. It's almost like a really healthy, delicious version of ice cream to me.
Basically blending thick smoothies in a big, traditional blender that loads from the top is always going to be the easiest because you can blend frozen ingredients together easily and then add liquid as needed. However, I have a Nutri-bullet, so the best method I've found to make thicker smoothies is putting the smaller frozen fruit in first, then the larger frozen fruit (such as strawberries), then the yogurt and banana, and finally a splash of water.
I am a huge fan of changing recipes and adapting them to what I like, so feel free to add whatever toppings you like best, but below is my absolute favorite recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries
- 1 banana cut into slices (half to put in the smoothie, half to put on on top)
- 1/2 cup greek non-fat yogurt
- 1 tablespoon agave
Toppings:
1/4 cup Coconut Flakes
1/4 cup granola of choice
1/2 Kiwi, cut into slices
Drizzle of honey
